I am thrilled to be a Classroom Champions Ambassador. This fantastic non-profit organization connects athlete mentors with classrooms in high-needs schools, to build citizenship and leadership skills, enhance digital literacy, encourage academic achievement, and teach about goal setting, perseverance, teamwork, and community-mindedness. Did you know that only 4% of young girls are achieving the recommended amount of exercise? Fast and Female aims to empower, inspire, and motivate girls to stay happy, healthy, and active in sports. Find them HERE.

Dr. Freda Omaswa PRIZE - McGILL SEEDS OF CHANGE CAMPAIGN

Freda was a beloved friend and medical school classmate, who passed away from metastatic colorectal cancer at age 33. Having trained in Internal Medicine and Infectious Disease, she was was working on a malaria vaccine research project, even while undergoing chemotherapy. The funds raised for this prize will support a medical student in pursuing infectious/tropical disease work in Africa, carrying on Freda's legacy of positive change in the world.
